How and why we had to escape Hurricane Ian TWICE!!

One… two… the hurricane’s coming for you…

We survived Hurricane Ian but only after evacuating not once but twice, and I did it all without any more panic attacks so I’ll take it!!

When Ian was originally heading straight up to the Tallahassee area, we figured we would drive all the way across Florida to the east coast of Jacksonville, should be plenty safe there right??

NOPE!! Within 24 hours of us getting there, getting the RV all set up and unpacked, the whole county we were in went into a mandatory evacuation!!

So then it was pack everything back up and get back in the truck to drive ALL the way back across Florida actually right TO Tallahassee this time the exact place we were avoiding in the beginning!! LOL had to laugh to keep from crying 🙂

Therapy has been going well, 2 to 3 times per week, I would love to go Monday through Friday if it wasn’t so expensive.

I’m still in that raw stage where every day in between sessions can be a little scary but I’m definitely feeling like it’s helping.

And just in case bringing up one of my many childhood traumas of being hit hard by Hurricane Hugo wasn’t enough, one of my other “favorite” memories was being held down at the dentist because they didn’t believe me that I could still feel the pain of what they were doing, so guess what I had this week right after the hurricane??

Yep, a dentist appointment!! 🙁

First one since COVID so that was already a lot of anxiety and then worse when they told me I have 4 cavities since I went through detached/depressive episodes and stretches where I wasn’t brushing my teeth or showering.

So now I have that to look forward to in a couple weeks but this dentist was amazing, the best I’ve ever been to and I feel like I’m in really good hands.

I’m still struggling with my weight and comfort food but I’ve at least started moving a lot more again and getting a lot more physical activity and sexual activity too!! 🙂

Oh and the new webcam system this past week went SO great, a few hiccups at first but I think we have most of those sorted out so I’m excited to try that again this weekend!! 🙂
